We Oppose Saxon Partners' Project at 375 Sandwich Road
Saxon Partners is a billion dollar real estate investment, development, and management company located in Hingham, MA. Like most big developers, they are using the loophole provided by the State’s 40B Affordable Housing Law to construct massive buildings with little to no controls. Bylaws were created to protect the citizens, but the State’s loophole allowed Saxon Partners to get approval by MassHousing and override Falmouth’s decision.
The Town of Falmouth rejected this project for good reason. It does not fit Falmouth’s Housing Plan. We are building affordable housing the right way, for home ownership, helping families. We are at 8.11%, one of the highest on the Cape.
We support affordable housing. We do not support five, four-story apartment buildings located in the middle of multiple rural neighborhoods in Falmouth. In most cases, the families that would be affected are less than 50 feet away from the proposed project. We have worked our entire lives to create a home in a peaceful setting, and we were all blindsided by this endeavor.

Our Concerns
Infrastructure
Our infrastructure cannot handle additional vehicle or pedestrian traffic. This would inevitably create safety concerns.
Light & Sound Pollution
At night, the entire area would be lit up. Construction noise, as well as the noise that would become present upon completion, would affect the area for years to come.
Environmental
The Saxon Partners project would cause irreversible damage to the Coonamessett River Restoration. This project cost us over $5 million in state and federal funds.
